San Francisco Chronicle/SF Gate

The major newspaper for San Francisco and the bay area. Read it online or you can buy it from the vending machines in the street for 50 cents.

 

Berkeley Parents Network

A good community resource for parents in Berkeley – people buy and sell stuff, and ask each other advice about music teachers, pediatric dentists and all sorts of advice.

 

Lonely Planet

A well known tour guide which gives you a bit of information about the Berkeley and SF bay area.

 

Craigslist

The classified ads – people buy and sell all sorts of stuff on here from second hand bikes to furniture and cars, also a good place to look for places to rent.
